Welcome to my watercolour painting blog

I have been a watercolour artist  for over 17 years and have taught watercolour painting for most of those years.

I use this blog to update my friends of my current watercolour painting activities such as when teaching watercolour, painting plein air, or in my studio. It has similar information to what is on the blog section of my Painting With Watercolors website except the spelling on this site is all in British English.

Watercolour Painting

Watercolour is a wonderful medium which can be a little difficult at the start. However, it is well worthwhile persevering with it as once learnt it will repay you with some beautiful effects created extremely quickly. To this extent it is good choice for plein air painting where the light can change quite fast however it is an even more difficult medium when painting outdoors.

Hopefully the material you find in this site and its sister website of interest and use to you with your own watercolour painting.

In addition to this blog I have two other watercolour related websites. One is titled Painting With Watercolors which is a watercolour demonstration and resource site for use by my students and anyone else interested in watercolour painting. My other web site is my on-line gallery at www.joecartwright.com.au.

Should you have any questions about watercolour painting or my work please do not hesitate to contact me or leave a comment.

Happy watercolour painting.
